DriverDX Founder Angie Ricci Wins Community Entrepreneur Award at Georgian College

BARRIE, May 26, 2023 - DriverDX, a Canadian transportation startup focused on improving work-life balance for drivers and solving the driver-supply chain shortage, is proud to announce that its founder and CEO, Angie Ricci, has been honoured with the Community Entrepreneur award presented by the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre at Georgian College. The award ceremony took place at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, on the evening of Thursday, May 25, 2023.

The Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre is renowned for its commitment to assisting entrepreneurs in various areas, including training, connections, funding, and mentorship. The Centre surrounds entrepreneurs with the necessary resources and support to take their business ideas to the next level and the annual awards recognize three recipients in the categories of Student Entrepreneur, Entrepreneurs' Champion, and Community Entrepreneur.


The Community Entrepreneur recognition of Angie Ricci's achievements reflects the impact and innovation she has brought to the entrepreneurial community in Barrie and beyond. The event featured a keynote address by Shawn Kanungo, a globally recognized innovation strategist and bestselling author. Having spent 12 years at Deloitte working closely with leaders on disruptive innovation, Kanungo brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the entrepreneurial sphere.

Angie Ricci, driven by determination and resilience, founded DriverDX after her previous bus fleet business was significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the challenges faced by drivers in terms of hard working conditions and the driver-supply chain shortage, Ricci pivoted her business model to focus on creating a driver-centric platform. Through DriverDX, drivers can set their own hours, choose their preferred trips, and achieve a better work-life balance. Ricci's innovative approach and commitment to the industry have resulted in a positive impact on the lives of drivers.
